Ohshitbears has subsided. Horrible panic brought upon by me thinking the Yuletide deadline was 9:00 PM PT instead of ET. Craptastic. Then, couldn't sign into site. Signed into site and filled out most of the stuff in IE, later comprehending that you can't see the dropdown menus in IE. Suckitude. Yuletide Prep and Landing squad assited me and kept me from going mental. Posted, then added giftee to post. Everything appears to be there and OK. Story was written but not entirely proofed. Am thinking it will not be liked, but can hope for the best. Vicci is checking it now, post-posting, as she knows the series. Have eaten pizza. Have a load in the wash and one in the dryer. Gave out Disney dollars and lottery tickets at work today. Am downloading Garmin file. Need to install East Coast instructions in Garmin. Houseguest arrives late tomorrow night - Vicci has offered to throw bedclothes in wash in preparation tomorrow. Was going to clean bathroom tonight - too damned tired. Really. Will do bathroom then, and pack. Last present purchased - thank you direct delivery. It will all end up at moms or it won't. Shawn is picking up Sharon - beer will be arranged between them. Hope to wake up in Hanover earlier enough on Christmas eve to score some serious Irish Whiskey for Irish teas (note to self - whipped cream in can. Lots of it). I am not shrieking and running about on fire before things are remarkably under control. Does anyone need a Pro DVD of Delovely? Vicci has acquired an extra. Yes, the snow was wet and heavy. In fact, it basically slushed for most of Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. But as predicted, by nightfall, the temp dropped and all that slush turned into solid ice. Since I had all my peeps home, the sidewalks and driveway were shoveled several times during the day. First, because the stuff was damn heavy and waiting for it to stop would have meant sore achy muscles from overworking. After the last round of shoveling, I had them put a liberal sprinkling of salt on the sidewalk. See, there are some good uses of the word 'liberal'. *L* I can tell you this morning, that everybody who did the same thing we did have dry, yes, DRY sidewalks this morning. Unfortunately, that was only about 25% of the people on my walk to school and back. The rest either hadn't bothered to clear their sidewalks at all, or tried to use their snow blowers, which left about an inch thick layer of slush that, you guessed it, is now ice. FAIL! What's worse, a few owners of corner properties did not clear the lovely snowbanks left by the plows at the end of the sidewalks, meaning that Sophie and I had some nasty ice mountains to climb just to get across some streets. Oh, and yes, it's fucking cold, even close to the lake today. I can't wait for April. Tomorrow or the next day, I'm going to be putting my laptop in the shop to fix an increasingly annoying touchpad and keyboard electronics glitch (yaye for extended warranties!). This feels rather like knowing I'm about to have my right hand amputated. But it basically means I'm going to be borrowing computers catch-as-catch-can, and I'll be mostly absent from LJ until my right hand is reattached. So if it seems I'm ignoring everyone, I'm not--at least not on purpose. And if something really earthshaking happens before I get back, like, oh, they announce they're casting Sean Astin as Bilbo or something, would somebody be kind enough to shoot me an email? (The one attached to this LJ account is fine.)
And if I owe you a fic, I'm working on it! I have so many different plots swimming around in my head right now, it's a wonder I can remember my own name.
Which reminds me, who am I? ;-)
See y'all on the flip side. (((((hugs))))) to my flist!
